After a couple years of painting in a very abstract style, I have enjoyed working more figuratively. These mediations draw some inspiration from de Chirico and my time in Italy recently. I like exploring open, sparing, empty spaces like this one. I feel as though they contain mystery, even and perhaps especially to the artist. On loose canvas. Will be about 33x33 when stretched.
