This five-painting series - WORK - explores my complicated relationship to jobs, work, and careers over the past 20 years.
Thomas Carlyle said: "Blessed is he who has found his work; let him ask no other blessedness."
After nearly two decades of struggling in various careers and with other artforms, in 2021 I "found my work" and began painting seriously. This series takes a broad-based and sometimes humorous look at what we gain from the world of Work and what we lose to it.
It was my great honor to exhibit the WORK series at Arriviste Coffee Roasters in Pittsburgh during the Summer and Fall of 2023.
