Why do we work if not to increase our access to leisure time and leisure pursuits? Certainly, that is a main reason. The collage layer of this painting draws heavily on English and European sporting art from the 1700s. 
I saw this kind of art a lot in my home growing up, and have always liked the simplicity and opulence of it. These seemingly innocent country scenes of hunting and racing can often have a lot more going on in them than you might think. Furthermore, is the pursuit of leisure really worth the sacrifices we often have to make on a day to day basis? These are just a few things I was thinking about when I created this painting. I also liked the juxtaposition of these classical figurative paintings, with my more chaotic, expressive style. Comes ready to hang. Buyer is responsible for paying additional shipping costs.
